Arizona’s Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol has been hard at work trying to get an initiative on next year’s ballot to legalize cannabis for recreational use.

It seems now that their work is paying off. Last week, they announced that they collected over 50,000 signatures for their initiative in only 10 weeks time.

In order to put their initiative to a vote, they must collect 150,642 signatures from registered voters by July of next year. If they keep on at their current rate (fingers crossed!) this should put them at their goal about 6 months early.

If the initiative is placed on the ballot and approved, it would allow those 21 and older to possess an ounce of cannabis and grow up to 6 plants. Cannabis retail outlets would be allowed, and a department would be established to handle licensing and regulations.

Thanks to Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol for all your hard work, and keep it up!
