Music and Marijuana

Music and marijuana is an archetypal combination. Not only did music shape the counter-culture generation in the 1960s and fuel a youth-based revolution, but it also brought people into harmony with their experiences and surroundings. Marijuana, in all of its rebellious glory, has a history of doing the same. Together, they are a perfect pairing, better than an aged-wine-and-cheese combination. There's nothing quite as sweet as rolling a joint to a classic stoner song, humming and licking your lips, feeling a part of something bigger.

In 2012, Washington became one of two states to recreationally legalize marijuana alongside Colorado. As a result of this decision, adults aged 21 and above can now legally possess, purchase, and grow their own cannabis, which started a trend on the West Coast. In terms of population, Seattle is Washington's largest municipality with a little over 608,000 people, and this city takes the title as the largest city in the Pacific Northwest region. Aside from Seattle being one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., many of their residents are marijuana users, which has generated millions of dollars in marijuana tax revenues. How much can you expect to spend on weed in Seattle, and where’s the best place to start shopping? Read on to find out!

One of the best parts about smoking cannabis is that it makes so many fun activities even better. Think about it: food tastes better when you have the munchies, music sounds amazing when you're high, and conversation is often more interesting. But what about an outdoor activity like hiking? Does weed pair well with strenuous exercise, or does it make you sluggish and unable to get off the couch?

The U.S. federal government continues to insist that marijuana is an unsafe, unhealthy, and dangerous illegal drug with zero medical worth with a high propensity for abuse. They still perpetuate this lie, despite the majority of states either considering or having already overturned its prohibition. The FDA ( Food and Drug Administration) lists marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug right along with heroin, cocaine, meth, LSD, and a host of other opiates, hallucinogens, and stimulants.

Top 5 Cannabis Movies

Cannabis culture played across the big screen gives an unrivaled look at what the larger society views as a typical cannabis user. These cannabis movies often involve shenanigans, illogically ordered arguments, some aspect of law enforcement, and a lingering suggestion that maybe cannabis is not as harmful as the law would like to make it seem. In fact, many of these films suggest cannabis can be an outlet for exploring life, relationships, all the things that are absurd about the world, and the fascinating intricacies of life in a society that takes a plant too seriously.

Barbary Coast Collective

October 30, 2017

Barbary Coast Collective LogoBarbary Coast Collective in San Francisco is hands-down the most beautiful dispensary that I've ever seen. Its décor reminds me of a lounge or bar inside of a fancy 1900s hotel with red wallpapered walls, Persian rugs, and a wooden ceiling with decadent chandeliers. It also has luxurious leather booths lining the walls, complete with a menu that looks more like a wine list. This is definitely a place for grown-ups and cannabis connoisseurs. You might even feel compelled to redecorate your residence after seeing this place.
