With 2018 just around the corner, consumers throughout the great state of California are getting prepped for the onboarding of recreational marijuana. People 21+ will soon be able to walk into a dispensary and purchase legal marijuana! While this may seem great to the consumers, businesses may have a hard time choosing a location for their dispensary as well as keeping marijuana in stock.

Los Angeles passed a regulation that prohibits the sale of marijuana in residential neighborhoods as well as within a 700-foot zone surrounding schools, libraries, and parks. Also, consumers who purchase legal marijuana will not be allowed to consume cannabis products in unlicensed, public spaces. This means that all consumption has to be done in a private residence or in a licensed cannabis club. Officials are hoping that these regulations will set an example for the rest of the nation to follow.

California has also noted that there could be a short supply of cannabis products after the 1st of January due to the sale of recreational marijuana. Medical patients have even been warned to purchase products before 2018, just to be sure that they will be able to have their medicine. L.A will not be the only large city with recreational marijuana. San Francisco and San Jose will also start the sale of recreational marijuana after January 1, 2018!
