There’s a common conjecture that Portland is a mixing pot; it’s the combination of different cultures, activities, and lifestyles, and there’s always something to do. Many come to the coast for easy access to the outdoors, since beaches and hikes and a slew of waterfalls all live nearby. Others are drawn to the urban living, where rain seeps into streets filled with murals and every road leads to some kind of craft coffee or beer brew house. There are different pulls for all types of people, interested in varying things scattered throughout the city.
Fortunately for Portland, they’ve realized that the city has one industry that’s willing to combine all of these niches; cannabis is bringing people together. There’s no longer a difficult choice between activities like smoking weed and going to yoga class or rolling a joint or running a 5k. Innovators within the cannabis industry are reaching out to people with different passions, and combining many of their favorite things. Because of this, Portland is a hub for marijuana events: ranging from diverse, fun, and educational.
