Colorado recently passed the five-year mark. It's been five whole years since voters in the state opted to legalized marijuana use for those of us age 21 and up. Though recreational marijuana dispensaries did not open in Colorado till the beginning of 2014, the ballot measure, titled Amendment 64, had built in a formula for tax revenue deposition. That is, we knew before recreational sales revenues started pouring in where the tax revenue collected from those sales would be distributed in the state and, in at least one circumstance, exactly how much of those revenues would be spent.

One of the best parts about smoking cannabis is that it makes so many fun activities even better. Think about it: food tastes better when you have the munchies, music sounds amazing when you're high, and conversation is often more interesting. But what about an outdoor activity like hiking? Cannabidiol (CBD) is an integral part of what makes cannabis the experience we all know and love. While it doesn't have the psychoactive effects triggered by THC, it has myriad other uses that are appreciated by medical marijuana patients and casual cannabis users alike. CBD is known to ease symptoms of both physical and mental illness. It can protect against inflammation and ward off chronic pain, and it’s been known to help alleviate anxiety and depression. CBD may even be a therapeutic application for addiction, as it targets your brain's serotonin 1A receptors.

Weed for Warriors: Caring for America’s Veterans

October 24, 2017

The Weed for Warriors Project LogoOrganizations like Weed for Warriors are highlighting the issues plaguing American veterans, including serious unresolved psychological issues. Rather than pumping them full of drugs, marijuana advocates point to a health alternative to potentially dangerous physician-prescribed remedies. It just boggles my mind that those who risked their lives trying to protect this country come home, are neglected, and get turned into drugged-up zombies. The failure at the VA is an example of how government has failed to reintegrate American veterans into a normal way of life, and if this remains the case, veterans will likely have to take matters into their own hands. We here at Leafbuyer want to reveal the issues veterans are facing on a daily basis and commend the actions of those who formed Weed For Warriors.

October 6, 2017

CBD Cannabidiol Medical MarijuanaCBD, otherwise known as cannabidiol, is quickly becoming one of the most popular natural medicines in the world. People have been taking advantage of the medicinal value of cannabis for thousands of years. In fact, the first recorded use of cannabis for medicinal purposes dates all the way back to 2737 BC. Fast forward to today, and we are just now discovering all of the remarkable medicinal purposes of weed. However, what people consider to be “weed” in today’s world is nothing more than a drug to get high with. It is a common misconception that weed only contains THC, which is the cannabinoid that produces the “high” effect. CBD, the non-psychoactive cannabinoid, is often overlooked. Yet, it is the second most abundant cannabinoid in weed. This usually leads people to ask: How much CBD is found in weed?
