Denmark Cannabis Laws

September 13, 2017

Denmark CanalWhen compared with other Western European nations, Denmark is unique in that it’s harsher toward the consumption and possession of marijuana. Even with trials under way on medical marijuana’s potential health benefits (medical marijuana can be prescribed but only a few strains), the country has a strict approach towards possession and distribution. Sifting through statutes is a bit hard as most of them are in Danish, but international drug reports have extracted the most important laws that relate to marijuana. Denmark cannabis laws are less about the amount and more about the type of substance; more specifically, marijuana isn’t necessarily considered a “dangerous substance,” so courts can be a bit more lenient. However, an amount that implies small-scale or large-scale distribution can result in decades of prison time.

September 7, 2017

Unfortunately, even though cannabis is legal in Oregon, there are very few places where people can openly smoke outdoors or indoors. However, in 2009, in Portland, Oregon, The World-Famous Cannabis Cafe opened, which gave cannabis patients the opportunity to consume their medicine in a fun yet cozy environment. Sadly, the cafe was forced to shut down due to a recently implemented Oregon amendment. Read on to find out why the cafe closed, and what this means for the future of Oregon cannabis clubs/lounges.

Cannabis Testing Labs in the U.S.

September 4, 2017

Cannabis Testing LabsCannabis is the fasting growing industry in the U.S. market right now, with sales last year totaling around $7 billion. By 2026, that number is expected to reach $50 billion, as reported by the Portland Press Herald. Experts are advising people who are thinking of investing in cannabis to invest through pharmaceutical companies and cannabis testing labs because cannabis is still declared a Schedule 1 drug under federal law. Since cannabis has been illegal, there wasn't a large market for cannabis testing labs. However, with forms of marijuana becoming legal in 29 states and Washington D.C., the demand for cannabis testing labs is sure to grow.

This Week in Weed News: The Synthetic Cannabis Epidemic in New Zealand

September 2, 2017

New Zealand Weed NewsNew Zealand is having a bit of a cannabis drought. Like any other developed nation in the world, a portion of New Zealanders like drugs. The domestic scarcity of cannabis is, inadvertently, encouraging some of those Kiwis to try synthetic cannabis or other designer drugs. Also known as "legal highs," many of the substances are available through online sources and often are chemically designed to mimic the effects of the more popular intoxicants and party drugs. This week in weed news, we look back at the month of July in the archipelago nation, New Zealand, as the use of synthetic cannabis has caused an epidemic claiming ten (10) lives in a single month and put over a dozen more into hospital.

What’s the Buzz About Malia Obama, Weed, and Spain?

August 31, 2017

Malia Obama WeedBuzz is just another way to say “conspiracy theory.” From Obama’s 2008 victory to his exit, the White House has been at the forefront of a right-centric smear campaign that sought to delegitimize his presidency. Birtherism, Benghazi, insidious globalizing, and other far-fetched arguments were directed at President Obama. The attacks were never solely limited to Barack Obama; Michelle was brutalized by the Alt-Right as a pretentious nanny state proponent (i.e. you must only eat peas). It can be reasonably argued that the Obamas were one of the most verbally degraded presidential families in American history – one needs to not look any further than conservative talk radio.

What’s All the Fuss About Jeff Sessions and Marijuana?

August 10, 2017

Jeff Sessions Whats the fuss 2Jeff Sessions is a powerful man. As you probably know, he is the Attorney General of the United States, and he previously served as a Republican Senator in Alabama. During his time in the Senate, Sessions became known as one of the more conservative politicians on either side of the aisle. Like many die-hard elephants, Jeff Sessions has strong convictions toward several hot topics: he's incredibly anti-abortion, is skeptical of climate change, and most topically, wants to criminalize marijuana across the states.
